Wedding Tradition: Saving the Top Tier of the Wedding Caked
Have you ever wondered where the tradition of saving the top tier of your wedding cake came from? The correct answer is one of the three:
1) It was traditionally the last to be cut so they would just save it until the next year.
2) English tradition was that the bride and groom would stay with the bride's family for the first year while they built their own home, and once they moved, they took the cake with them.
3) A baby was expected within the first year in the 19th century so to multi-task, the top tier would be the Christening cake.
